Rona Barrett to premiere one-woman show Thursday in Beverly Hills
BEVERLY HILLS — On Thursday, Rona Barrett will open her one-woman show chronicling her career as the first woman to bring entertainment news to television, as part of the inaugural PaleyFest Rewind at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.
“Rona Barrett: Nothing But The Truth” will feature clips of Barrett’s interviews with such celebrities as Carol Burnett, Cher, Bette Davis and John Wayne, interspersed with details of her life.
The show will begin at 7 p.m. at The Paley Center for Media, 465 N. Beverly Drive. Tickets are $20, $15 for center members.
Tonight, PaleyFest Rewind will play host to a cast reunion of the 1969- 74 ABC Emmy-winning high school drama “Room 222.”
Cast members Karen Valentine, Denise Nicholas, David Jolliffe, Judy Strangis and producer Gene Reynolds will discuss the series, which drew praise for its realism and confronting issues that had seldom been dealt with on television.
The reunion will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, $10 for center members.
PaleyFest Rewind, billed as a pop culture classics festival, will continue through Monday and also include events with cast members of “My Three Sons” (Saturday) and “Leave it to Beaver” (Monday).
