Seniors Can Rock the Vote!

Seniors Can Rock the Vote!

It is absolutely crucial that seniors exercise their voice by voting on Tuesday.  If we don’t make our right to vote count, then we wash our hands of the direction our nation is heading in—and be certain that this is a critical time, especially for seniors, to use their voice.

Seniors must be made aware of how serious matters could be for them in the future if the wrong judges come into office.  No matter what the politicians say, in the final analysis, people are going to take these issues to the courts and if the courts are made up on every level—local, state, federal, supreme, etc.—with people who really believe we should over turn social security, Medicare, and healthcare (even though we all know the new health care bill needs fixing) plus all those government programs which have brought peace of mind to so many of our elderly, can and could be overturned, their vote to kick out everyone who is in office could wind up being the biggest mistake seniors will have ever made to leave the legacy they want to leave to this next generation and beyond.

We need an urgency call to all seniors about how important their vote can be to this election, but must also have realistic expectations of the pace of change.  It is true that President Obama has not stressed enough that the road he wanted us to go down would take longer than two years to accomplish.  But we cannot think that by changing the tide, the tide will change overnight!  Have patience.  I know how painful this period is for everyone.  Like many of you, my life has been turned upside down, too.  But I’m not giving up and I hope you won’t either!  We can reinvent ourselves and our nation.   And we are the ones, I truly believe, who can do it!

So go out and vote this Tuesday and think twice about which lever you are going to pull down!  Think about your own life.  Did you become wise overnight?

Until then, keep thinking the good thoughts!
