Entertainment journalist and non-profit pioneer, Rona Barrett has influenced generations of Americans through her trailblazing and passionate approach to reporting. As she moved away from that spotlight her goal was to reposition it to one on senior citizen advocacy. In fact, this heartfelt sensitivity for the gray population was birthed during her caregiving experience for her Dad, Harry. And, it fully unfolded with a seed, an inspiring lavender seed to be exact, as she launched her lavender farm enterprise with proceeds thoughtfully earmarked for senior causes. That endeavor’s far-reaching contributions to seniors catalyzed her to establish The Rona Barrett Foundation (RBF), a non-profit dedicated to providing housing and care services solutions for seniors in-need.

Today, the RBF has provided the vision platform for an affordable, innovative, enriched and dignified senior residence community called The Golden Inn & Village (GIV) in the Santa Ynez Valley.
