The Rona Barrett Foundation is proud to welcome Lisa Clement, M.D. as the newest member of their Board of Directors. Dr. Clement practices internal medicine in the Santa Ynez Valley, and brings to the Foundation 23 years of experience with a focus on gerontology and senior healthcare in private practice and as former Medical Director at Devereux.

“We applaud Dr. Clement’s commitment to the health and well-being of seniors,” said Rona Barrett, Rona Barrett Foundation Founder and CEO. “Her involvement with the Foundation will bring greater insight to the care of seniors at the Golden Inn & Village, and awareness of the importance of senior health for our entire community.”

Dr. Clement received her Bachelor’s Degree in biology from Cal State Northridge, Master of Science from USC and M.D. at the USC School of Medicine. During medical school, with the help of a scholarship, she taught gross anatomy and microscopic anatomy to first year medical students.

Dr. Clement completed her three year internal medicine residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in 1993, followed by private practice in Santa Barbara and as Medical Director at Devereux.

In 2012, she moved with her husband and two teenage daughters to the Santa Ynez Valley and opened her own internal medicine private practice, with admitting privileges to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.

“Our board members have given tirelessly of themselves to help overcome the challenges to create the first affordable senior housing campus in the Santa Ynez Valley,” said Barrett. “As we welcome Dr. Clement’s expertise and commitment, we also gratefully thank each of our board members for being an ambassador for this cause in our community and beyond.”
