To My Friends in the Entertainment Industry – those I’ve interviewed and those I didn’t and wish I had,
I hope this letter finds you well….I’m a voice from your past!
It’s been some time since I’ve seen or talked with some of you. Over the past years I’ve been working through my foundation, The Rona Barrett Foundation, to build a model AFFORDABLE senior care living facility in Santa Barbara County that can be duplicated across the nation.
Here’s why I’m writing to you today…
Please open your heart and your checkbook while you consider what you want for yourself, your parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors who may have no way to pay for their home and care — how would you want them to live?
The Rona Barrett Foundation has recently started construction on the Golden Inn and Village (GIV), the Santa Ynez Valley’s first affordable residential senior housing and care facility. I invite your participation in the “celebrity” portion of our project by joining us in our Golden Stars Campaign.
Our goal is to have every one of the 60 affordable apartments at the GIV sponsored by someone like you, a “Golden Star” in the entertainment industry, who believes that we can make a difference in the lives of seniors who need to know they are NOT forgotten and alone in their golden years. With your donation we will be able to provide functional and tasteful furnishings in the GIV’s public areas and enhance the life enriching programs that will be offered for residents.
With your generous gift of $5,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and $2,500 for a studio, we will place a permanent plaque next to the door of one of the GIV apartments. You will have a room named in your honor, memorialize a parent or grand-parent or make a tribute gift in honor of a family member, friend, cause, organization or business. How fun for our residents and what a meaningful contribution you will be making. We will acknowledge and thank you for your sponsorship in all printed and promotional materials, with your approval.
The GIV will provide a continuum of senior care services, a vibrant community center, on-site, multi-generational employee/family housing and life enriching programs where lower income seniors can age in place; a community that is a model for similar senior housing across the country. Phase I of the GIV is expected to open in 2016 and our dream will become a reality! Phase II of the project will include a separate house for those who need assisted living and memory care.
